Step 1: list every load the lift will carry
Include the product, its packaging, the pallet or trolley, and any handling equipment that rides on the platform. Total these, not just the product weight.
Step 2: separate typical from peak
If ninety-five per cent of trips are 600 kg and the occasional trip is 1.2 Ton, a 1.5 Ton lift used correctly is a better answer than a 1 Ton lift that will be overloaded whenever the heavy item appears.
Step 3: check the platform, not just the rating
A lift can be within capacity and still unsuitable if the load will not fit. Platform length, width and headroom inside the cabin must match your largest item plus handling clearance.
Step 4: allow for how the business will grow
Consider whether product weights, pallet configurations or throughput are likely to increase. Modest headroom in the specification now is cheaper than a replacement later.
Common capacity bands we supply
500 kg for kitchens, showrooms and light cartons; 1 Ton for standard warehouse pallets; 1.5 Ton and 2 Ton for mixed factory duty; 3 Ton and 5 Ton for heavy industrial components. Every rating is confirmed against your building and load data during engineering assessment.
